A Philippine-based 3C (computer, communication, and consumer electronics) cross-border seller had their account permanently frozen by Lazada after twice listing counterfeit products bearing the trademarks of a well-known headphone brand. The seller's 100,000 pesos in operating funds are inaccessible, and all infringing headphone inventory has been destroyed.
The platform's rules clearly state that electronic products and digital accessories are high-risk trademark categories. For the first instance of infringement, the product is removed and the security deposit is forfeited; for repeated infringements, the store is permanently banned without appeal. The Philippine Intellectual Property Office also imposed an administrative fine on the seller and added them to the local e-commerce blacklist, preventing them from joining any local e-commerce platform.
